What does a wedding celebrant do?

A wedding celebrant is a trained professional who officiates wedding ceremonies and is registered with the Attorney-Generals office. They work closely with couples to create and conduct personalised ceremonies that reflect their love story, values, and preferences.

Can we customise our ceremony?

Absolutely! Your ceremony should be a reflection of your unique love story. I'll work closely with you to customise every aspect, from the vows and readings to any rituals or traditions you'd like to include.

Do you travel for weddings?

Yes, I do! While based in Brisbane, I’m more than willing to travel outside the area to officiate your wedding. Whether it's a destination wedding or a ceremony in another city, I'll be there with bells on (not literal bells unless you reallllly want bells)!

What happens during the initial consultation?

During the consultation, I'll get to know you as a couple, discuss your wedding plans, and understand your vision for the ceremony. It's a chance for you to ask questions and for us to discuss how we can make your ceremony unforgettable.

What is a NOIM?

A Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) is a legal form required by Australian law for all couples planning to marry. It's a document that notifies the government of your intention to marry and collects essential information about you and your partner.

Can we waive the one-month notice period?

In exceptional circumstances, you may apply to the office of Births, Deaths and Marriages for a Shortening of Time, allowing you to marry within the one-month notice period. These circumstances typically involve compelling reasons such as impending travel, medical reasons, or employment-related matters.

What sets Caitie the Celebrant apart?

I’m dedicated to creating ceremonies that are as unique as the couples we serve. My
passion, attention to detail, and commitment to reflecting your love story in every element
will set your ceremony apart. Your love is extraordinary, and your ceremony should be too.

How do we book Caitie the Celebrant for our wedding?

Booking Caitie the Celebrant is easy! Simply reach out to me through the contact page. I'll then schedule a consultation to discuss your vision and needs, and then will guide you through the booking process.

What is the role of a Master of Ceremonies (MC)?

An MC ensures the smooth flow of your wedding reception. They make announcements, introduce speakers, and keep the schedule on track. Caitie the Celebrant offers MC services
to make your reception as seamless and enjoyable as your ceremony.

How far in advance should we book our wedding celebrant?

It's recommended to book your wedding celebrant as soon as you have your wedding date and venue secured. This ensures you have the best chance of getting your preferred celebrant and allows ample time for ceremony planning.

Do you provide assistance with legal paperwork?

Yes, I do. I will guide you through the legal requirements and paperwork necessary for your marriage to be legally recognised. I'll ensure everything is in order so you can focus on enjoying your special day.

When should we lodge a NOIM?

You must lodge your NOIM with your chosen celebrant at least one month and up to 18 months before your wedding date. This waiting period allows time for legal requirements to be fulfilled. I will make sure that this is an easy and seamless process for you both as a couple.

Can you help us with writing our vows?

Absolutely! I am happy to offer guidance and assistance in crafting personalised vows that reflect your feelings and the journey you'e shared. Your vows should be meaningful and from the heart.
